Maxim Lapshin is a young St. Pete artist with huge potential. His paintings could be bought for USD 700 two years ago and are now selling at the DiDi Gallery from USD 3000 to USD 6000. This artist is solely managed and marketed by Revaz Zhvania, the owner of the DiDi Gallery. Revaz estimates that Lapshin’s primary works will sell in the range from USD 10 000 to USD 20 000 within three to five years, as top collectors in Russia and worldwide acquire his works.
Lapshin was born in 1984 in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. In 1999 Maxim was awarded “The Star of Prometheus”, the science and culture prize of St. Petersburg and in 2000 he became the winner of “Russia’s Hope” prize and grant.

The central image of the artist’s creative work at this time is “Eternal Feminity”. His paintings are symbolical but one can also find in them surrealist motives, the bright style of medieval painting and the spirit of belle epoque. Lapshin’s works are included in private collections in Europe, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, China, Japan and Hong Kong. One of his paintings can be found in the Gazprom offices.
